Our project proposal MEWi-B More Efficient Wind Blades, submitted under the Horizon 2020’s SME instrument phase 2 and evaluated by an international panel of independent experts, has been awarded the Seal of Excellence as "successful in a highly competitive evaluation process as an innovative project proposal".
Poster Presentation at the EWEA workshop Analysis of Operating Wind Farms 2016 (Bilbao, 14-15th April)
eTa Blades will perform a poster presentation at the EWEA technology workshop "Analysis of Operating Wind Farms 2016" on the subject: Achieving superior performance and extended asset life-cycle on aging wind assets though re-blading. The poster sessions will take place on Thursday 14 April, from 11:00 to 11:45 and from 17:00 to 18:30.
Blades are the turbine component most impacted by age. Coating, Lamination, Aerodynamics, Lightning protection systems all show increasing failures over time: trailing edge, blade shell, Spar, Root and Lightning protection systems are the parts that are most hit by age.

The performance degradation of old wind-farms and decreasing incentive tariffs across Europe for the new projects disappoint small independent wind-farmers. At the same, time large players target asset consolidation to secure long-term portfolios requiring longer asset life-cycle and enhanced returns.
